Winter 2022 STEAM ACADEMIA ONLINE
STEAM ACADEMIA ONLINE
Is your child looking to be challenged academically? Our online STEAM Academia classes will introduce students to subjects typically not introduced in the middle school/upper school curriculum.
Our online classes are a perfect way to show them around the exciting world of STEAM, and give them a headstart in next-gen STEAM education.
MOLECULES BUILDING & EXPLORATION $165
5-5.50pm | Ages 10-14
1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 3/2, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23. No class 2/23
This 8-week course guides students through the hands-on process of constructing and understanding molecular models made with a high school-level chemistry modeling kit! These 3-dimensional molecule structures explore molecular bonding concepts and help students understand more complex molecules. We'll discuss the physical and chemical properties of each molecule built, and discuss conditions for molecule formation. We'll also use the 3D models to study bond angles, symmetry and polarity.
Students to purchase:
WE GET PHYSICS! $145
5- 5.50pm | Ages 9-11
1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/28, 3/7, 3/14, 3/28. No class 2/14, 2/21, 3/21
Physics made fun, without complicated math equations. We break down the technical jargon so students get Physics! In this class, we introduce concepts like force vectors, acceleration, kinetic energy, potential energy, and flight path. Students will have access to worksheets and explainer videos in addition to live lessons.
INTRO TO BIOLOGY $280
5-5.50pm | Ages 10-14
1/27, 2/3, 2/10, 2/17, 3/3, 3/10, 3/17, 3/24, 3/30, 4/6. No class 2/24
In this introductory biology course, students will plan and conduct investigations that would teach them about the nature of living things. Students will gain an understanding of concepts such as osmosis, catalysts and enzymes, and metabolic pathways. They will think critically about experimental design, collect information and present it in tables and graphs, and have fun along the way. Materials required: science kit (included in class fee), and household items. Shipping may take up to a week.
DIGITAL ART $165
5-5.50pm | Ages 8-13
1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22. No class 2/22
Graphics draw the eye and are in our daily lives. They can inspire, inform, and persuade.
In this class, students learn how to upload images and use a database of elements and moving images to create digital graphics design projects. We will play games like choosing images based on personality traits, making character search challenges, and more. Students will learn different tools to create layers and make vector format artwork. We will put together pictures based on gradients, drawing tools, and color palettes.
