Nov 11/7 3-5pm, 11/14 3-5pm, 11/21 3-5pm, 11/28 1-4pm (mock exam) The class will cover all sections on the HSPT, and also teach students the problem-solving strategies and techniques to be successful in each section. There will be homework assigned. The session starts with a baseline diagnostic test and ends with a mock exam.
9/6 - 11/15. No class 10/11 | 3-4pm | Gr K-4 | Library Get hooked on Chess - a game that promotes logical thinking, problem solving, and foresight! In this class, we emphasize sportsmanship over competitive elements to get our kids excited about chess. Kids learn strategies, openings, solve chess diagrams and puzzles. Class will consist of instruction time followed by playing time with each other and with the instructor.
9/6 - 12/6. No class 10/11, 11/22 | 3-4pm | Gr 5-8 | Room 6 Led by Ms Barboza, students will work on their homework during this hour and receive help as needed.
9/7 - 11/16. No class 10/12 | 3-4pm | Gr K-2 | Upper Yard This soccer class teaches the fundamentals in a fun, non-competitive, educational environment. Our unique curriculum uses positive reinforcement and a low child-to-coach ratio to make sure each child feels confident in their own abilities, allowing kids to improve at their own rate. We use specific and progressive lesson plans built to your child’s developmental needs.
9/14 - 11/16. No class 10/12 | 3-4pm | Gr 3 & up | Church Hall Our yoga class focuses on techniques that will stretch, develop, and train their body and mind. The course will include breathing and visualization exercises to promote calmness & self- empowerment, as well as interactive and social games that will build self-confidence while having fun. The children will learn traditional poses and will also learn to put the poses in motion. Dress comfortably
9/8 - 11/17. No class 10/13 | 3-4pm | Gr K-3 | Library Learn to Uke! It's relatively simple to learn, easy to tote around, super fun, and timelessly popular! In this ensemble, we will jump right into the fun stuff and learn how to play music on the ukulele. By the end of the course, students will know a few chord positions, will be able to play a couple of songs on the ukulele, and be able to sing along. Our instructors bring a classroom set of ukuleles with them to every class.
9/8 - 11/17. No class 10/13 | 3-4pm | Gr 4 & up | Church Hall In this beginner class, students learn guitar care, tuning, strumming patterns, chords, single note melody lines, music terminology and the skills needed to play many of your favorite songs! It’s necessary for students to have their own guitar and bring them to class. Practicing at home is a requirement for the students to reach their maximum potential. 9/9 - 11/18, no class 10/7, 10/14, 11/11 | 1.30-2.30pm | Gr K-2 | Computer Lab Toyology students use STEM concepts to build a variety of toys and use them to demonstrate major scientific concepts such as energy, electricity, light, gravity, motion, friction, magnetism and simple machines. Each student will construct and take home a science toy in every class!
9/9 - 11/18, no class 10/7, 10/14, 11/11 | 1.30-3.30pm | Gr 3 & up | Library This 2-hour robotics class is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of robot design and programming. Students will learn basic concepts and apply them by building and programming a LEGO robot to perform specific tasks through a hands-on approach. With iterative efforts, students will get insights into the application of robotics to solve real life problems.
