  • Choose a Session:  Each session will meet once a week for ten weeks.

 

  • Workbook: Before class begins, we mail you the workbook that your child will use during each class.

 

  • Webinar: We use the Zoom “webinar” platform to conduct our live online lessons. Students are view-only attendees* during the class, but they can use the Q&A chat function to ask questions which we answer live on the broadcast.

 

  • Class Replays: All classes will be recorded and made available for students to re-watch later. Students have access to the replays until they take their actual HSPT®

​

  • Free Homework Help: We offer an optional hour of “Homework Help” each week from 3 pm – 4 pm on Sundays, and students may drop in at any time. Students will have audio and video privileges during Homework Help.

 

  • Free Mock Exam: students are given access to our full-length, online HSPT® Mock Exam as a final practice before the test.

 

  • Free downloadable Vocab Workbook available after class concludes.

Solving Math Problem

MONDAY
Middle School Math Club $150

This after school math club will engage students in various math concepts including ratios, percents, algebraic expressions, and rational numbers. Students will be engaged through real-world problems, math puzzles, and activities to expand their understanding of vital math concepts. After each lesson, students will receive an optional homework packet. All lessons will be done through Nearpod. Students will need access to this platform, but do not need an account.

This after-school math club will engage students in various math concepts including place value, multiplication, division, fractions, and multi-digit numbers. Students will be engaged through real-world problems, math puzzles, and activities to expand their understanding of vital math concepts. After each lesson, students will receive an optional homework packet.

Spanish for Beginners $170

Spanish for beginners is a fun class in a relaxed atmosphere where students learn how to greet, introduce themselves, express likes and dislikes, describe people and many other basic topics that one will develop and understand with a trained native teacher.

Let's practice yoga together! We will begin by doing some gentle stretching, followed by playful movement, yoga, & deep breathing. This class is a perfect way to unwind at the end of the day, providing deep relaxation, mental clarity, stress release, creating a mind and body harmony.

Exploring Architecture

Learn the language of architecture in our 8-week introductory workshop where learners are introduced to modelling by hand, drawing in perspective, reading and creating floor plans and sections.  Students will learn how to approach projects through the design process while experimenting with their own unique solutions based on a given theme for that day. Using simple materials like paper, tape, recyclables and found objects, we will explore the concept development, skillset and design process of architecture.

Interested in learning to hone fashion skills and/or pursuing a career in the fashion industry? In this 10-week course,  students will learn fashion design basics, create, and be tested on their newly acquired knowledge.

They will learn about design industry careers, tools and terms, patterns, textiles and professional presentation.  The final portfolio may include: a 9 segment croqui, tailoring, and sewing projects.

This thematic and integrated science unit will provide students with a variety of ways to learn about pumpkins, apples and leaves. We will implement language arts, math, art, science and baking to learn about the various concepts of fall! Topics and activities include apple growing, popcorn math, leaf observations, and pumpkin plant cycles.

Needed materials: Construction paper, Pumpkin Pie Filling, Pencil/Markers, Cinnamon, Glue, Milk, Yarn/String, Instant Pudding, Leaf (from backyard/outside, etc.), Whipped Cream, Various types of apples, Small Cup and Mixing Bowl.

TUESDAY
Spanish Conversation Club $170

*Prerequisite - Basic understanding of Spanish*

​

This Full Spanish immersion space is perfect for basic/intermediate speakers to practise, expand vocabulary, and exercise conversational skills on a variety of topics in a relaxed social environment. This conversational-style class will be guided by a trained teacher who is a native speaker. Learners are encouraged to share e.g. a story, interests/hobbies or something they did during the week etc. All conversations/activities will be conducted in Spanish (English will be used to explain, if needed to facilitate learning).

Comic Book Creature

Comic Book Creation $165

In this course, the students will start their own comic strip by combining story-telling and eye-catching art.
Students will learn about the elements of story writing by discussing favorite comics/mangas, see different examples of making comics.  They will then create and practice drawing different poses and angles of characters, typography, viewpoints, styles, color theory, to culminate in a final presentation day.
